Classes have started, and I'm already living on campus.
Isn't so bad... for now, that is. :P
I've made some new friends, and oh, I have a roommate! Name's Craig, and he's Chinese-Australian. International student, too. He speaks Chinese the same way I speak Japanese... just conversational. :P
And because Lee's asking how my first day in campus housing went, well here you go:
Me: *enters room and sees roommate fixing stuff out of a box* Hey, roommate!
Roommate: Good day, mate!
Me: *chuckles* Australian? *inwardly wonders why he has chinky eyes* Name's Louie. *extends hand*
Roommate: Actually, Chinese-Australian. *laughs and takes hand and shakes and then lets go* Craig. South American?
Louie: *chuckles* No, Irish-Japanese-Filipino. Or something like that.
Craig: Ahh. Actually, when you came in, I was wondering if you really were my roommate. The name on my paper's Japanese.
Louie: Haha... well...
Craig: So you came from Tokyo? Speak Japanese?
Louie: Actually, I came from the Philippines. Grew up there. And no, I don't speak much Japanese.
Craig: Likewise, I don't speak Chinese.
Louie: Oh. (now I'm too lazy to type)
Friendly. Plays soccer. We may get along well.
